Direct Majority Investments in Market-Leading Technology Businesses

Leading Engineering and Technology Businesses

The Technology segment focuses on direct investments in companies with specialist know-how, strong market positions and exposure to structural growth.

The Group’s largest single investment in this segment is Exyte.

Exyte

Exyte is a global engineering, procurement and construction company specializing in the delivery of technically complex facilities for high-tech industries. Headquartered in Stuttgart and with a history dating back to 1912, the company plans, designs and delivers facilities where process control, clean environments, reliable utilities and precise project execution are critical. Exyte employs around 12,000 people and generated revenue of approximately €6.5 billion in 2025.

Its core markets include semiconductor manufacturing, battery cell production, biopharma and life sciences, and data centers. Exyte's work ranges from early-stage consulting and engineering to procurement, construction management, commissioning and complete EPC or EPCM delivery. It also provides technology and equipment solutions for cleanrooms and other controlled production environments.

These facilities are among the most demanding industrial projects in the world. Semiconductor fabs and battery plants require exceptionally clean and stable production conditions; pharmaceutical facilities must meet strict regulatory standards; and data centers depend on resilient power, cooling and building systems. Exyte combines specialized engineering knowledge with the ability to manage very large projects across multiple regions.

In 2023, BDT & MSD Partners became a significant minority shareholder. Stumpf Group remains the majority owner with a 66% interest and continues to support Exyte's long-term development.

Exyte is strategically important to the Group not only because of its scale, but also because it provides direct exposure to the physical infrastructure behind semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, electrification, modern healthcare and life sciences.
